RHYC annual One Design Regatta and or Mid Atlantic Districts
Three Windmills raced on Saturday in 0 to 2 knots of varitable and shifting winds. After the start of race #2 the wind completely died prompting the Race committee to call the race and haul everyone to the club. Air conditioning and Libations at the club lead to many conversations about the upcomming Nationals in July. The Race committee on Sunday set the smaller leg race course close to the Yacht Club. Luckly 4 additional races were able to take place in similar 0-4kts of wind. Positions on the course changed multiple times as one side of the course would get a breath of wind while people on the other side watched their lead fade away. Scott and Jan Ross sailed several great legs and were very competative, comming in 2nd on two of the races. Dyer and Jim had a great start on the 4th race and lead the way the entire race. Their local knowledge keep Ralph and Sandy looking over their shoulders the entire weekend. Everyone had to stay very alert to keep ahead of the Rebels and Wayfarers who would catch up at the rounding marks. Great fun was had by all.
