Saturday saw a cold front trying to come through. Wind was NW and VERY shifty 6-12 kts. Craig led the way in most races and finished with 4 bullets. Colin and crew were enjoying the flat water of the Indian River pushing hard and managed to capsize once. Matthew sailing the class loaner boat for his first time in a Windmill managed to finish 2 in the 2nd race and follow up with 3rds. Jim was 4 th. in the first race and broke his mainsheet block and had o retire in the 2nd. race. Unfortunately Daniel had boat problems and didn't make it out to the race course. On Sunday it was blowing 16-20 with higher gusts. The race committee went out and set up but due to higher winds as well as a number of capsizes in the fleets, racing was abandoned for the day.
A good time was had by all. MYC thanked the Windmill fleet for coming out for our regatta and hope to have a bigger fleet next year. |
