all right windmillers here's the scoop on the carlisle classic regatta held this past weekend at clearwater community sailing center on beautiful sand key. if you decided to skip this one...you lose! "chamber of commerce weather" greeted 4 boats, with 80 degree temps, and solid 10- 15 knot beeze both days. once again...lisa fath on her beautiful bonfire, won all the races! this is quickly becoming a pattern. lets get to the details. ccsc really gave new meaning to giving back to the sailors. $50 got us 2 days of racing, daily contenental breakfast, 2 lunches each day, a chili-fest, a catered dinner from baystar restuarant group (island way grill, saltrock, marlin darling, and rhumba), cool handmade trophies, a 50/50 raffle, a saltine challenge, and a whole lot more. friendly ccsc volunteers greeted us each day, valet's helped us with our trailers. each launch and landing was greated with an ubundance of happy helpers. basically it was a big "love-fest of sailing". we raced modified olympic courses, and were often planing on the reaches. sunday, after the racing, lon and colin were giving rides to the yutes. planing around the bay, duking it out with the windsurfers. mark your calender, ccsc will be hosting our midwinters regatta march 10-11, 2012. oh yeah...here's the real results. lon and meg won, dede and beau were 2nd, colin and nicky were 3rd, and lisa and caroline had more fun then anyone!!!
see you on the water... whimpy even went out this weekend when it was windy!
