Northern California New Year's Fun Sail at Alameda, Ca | January 8 |
Story |
Scott & Jessica and Tony Nunes & myself sailed at Alameda Yesterday.
The weather report was wrong and we ended up with it being overcast all day long and winds from light to zero. We sailed from the Grand Street ramp to Jack London Square and back to the Park Street bridge. Lots of boats to look at, some big sail boats were underway with auxiliary power. Also a number of rowing craft. We even had to use auxiliary power a couple times. We were all dressed appropriately for the weather and had a good time. The best part was my new [wooden] whisker pole launcher worked great. With the rowing craft & Windmills there were more wood than fiberglass launched at the ramp. Darrell |
