:: :: I am in the process of restoring a wood windmill. The
:: :: boat was given to me as is and as a result is missing
:: :: some hardware. I am to the point of needing to connect
:: :: the main shroud to the deck. What is the best method
:: :: here? My reading tells me that chainplates should be
:: :: used. However, I don't see a structural point to attach
:: :: them. I must be missing something obvious. Any advice is
:: :: appreciated and thank you in advance.

:: What is the boat number? Where do you live? Allen

::
:: Do you have a set of plans? For the sidestays, either on
:: the deck or through the deck to a fitting attached to
:: aft side of thwart brace...but you want to re-enforce
:: the attachment point ... extra piece of marine ply to
:: spread the load. Email me with your information and I
:: will provide details

Allen, Boat number unknown. I owned a windmill previously (167) that had the # carved into the forward section of the keel piece, however that has been replaced due to rot on this windmill prior to my owning it. I don't have the sails yet for my current boat but i am working on it. No plans either. After I read your post I took a second look and see what you mean. It's very obvious and I feel silly for missing it. I will still take any advice you have. Jmitchell102184@gmail.com

Thanks much!
