Hey Guys I recently just sold my windmill old no. 282 and miss it already Hopefully the new owner will sign up with you There has been a lot of discussion on the net about cleaning sails I went to the nationals this year and was really envious of you all who had new white crisp sails I am helping a friend restore his Loftland Snipe boat The sails were very yellowed and stained ( some mildew etc) Discussions warn against putting them in the washing machine I belived them I think that could pretty much ruin them with all the thrashing around so, I laid down a large plastic sheet on the grass and tacked it all down. I tried spray and wash and left in on a while Then I gently scrubbed the surface with a small floor buffer -scrubber with brushes. Except for the bad stains. they came out great. So, if any of you folks know of a better method let me know. Thanks Jim Stephens #282
