Windmill Class Association

Hello All,

Just wanted to drop a note here. Seems as though we have fairly decent site traffic and it's a good way to contact folks between Jouster's.

The Nationals were a big success! A well run event by the Rock Hall Yacht Club, our PRO Dave Ellis and wonderful volunteers. We were blessed with three days of sailing, varying conditions that let everyone have a great moment or two - especially some fun reaches. May not have changed the standings much, but it is really fun to see packs of Windmills planning.

The annual meeting was also held, and a lively discussion could not be contained. The proposed changes were bantered about, cost of doing business, and the future of the WCA as we deal with the challenges of making a smallish association successful. Lon Ethington was elected to chair the "nomination's committee" for this year, helping us by continuing to find class members who want to serve a couple of years as an officer.

It was agreed that the By-Laws and Constitution truly need to be amended to reflect the times, and streamlined approaches that so many things have taken on these days, from voting, paying dues, notifying members of changes etc. Our committee structures need review, and most of all, we need to simplify this all so that everyone can understand it.
