Jib Sheet - The jib sheet should be lead to a ratchet block mounted on a slide that is attached to a piece of sail track, which is bolted to the side tanks. I suggest small Harken Hexa-ratchets, (#019), with the sheet led to Harken cam cleats, (#150), on the weather deck. Place the cleats on the rub rail about the crew's bottom width back from the side stay. (I will decline to estimate this distance) The track, about 1 foot long, should be centered 95 1/2" in a straight line from Station 0. The final adjustment depends on the cut of the sail and the wind strength. (Station 0 is the stem, the forestay is required to be aft of Station 0 12" +-2", the jib tack should be 1" aft of the forestay. The placement is shown in Figure 5. The track slides are shown in Figure 2 and also in several photos.

I attach the jib sheet to the jib clew with sister (Brummel) hooks. I put one hook on the clew with a short piece of wire and secure it with a Nicropress fitting. The other hook is spliced into the jib sheet. This makes setting the boat up simple and allows the jib to be furled on the forestay after docking. Furling (rolling) the jib around the forestay puts less wrinkles in the sail, plus it is not in the bottom of the boat to step on when you get out.

1)     Samson Trophy braid, or other fuzzy braids, line is preferred for main and jib sheets.
Use any pre-stretched line for all other controls.

2)     Brummel is a brand name for sister hooks. They allow the jib sheet to be disconnected from the jib, without untying knots. The jib can then be furled around the forestay.
