Subject: New to sailing but not a new boat
Info: (11359 views) Posted: Tuesday 9-3-19 09:14:54 PM
I have a windmill class sailboat that has been sitting for over 20 years near Meadville, PA. It is a Moorman built fiberglass hull numbered 3323. I have the matching sails, though the main sail has three mouse holes that need patched (about 2” in size). The trailer is being refurbished this winter and the boat itself also needs a little work, mostly cleaning and replacing some of the hardware. I have a basic understanding of rigging and sailing from a beginner course, but the windmill is different enough that I’m not confident in being able to rig it properly and am fairly hesitant about taking it out on the water once it's ready without someone else more experienced who can help me learn. In general, I want to learn a lot about this boat; any history about my particular boat if any can be found, advice on fixing the sails and choosing the replacement hardware, as well as how to rig and sail it.
